Thankful for the Flock

With Thanksgiving right around the corner, and God opening my eyes up to all that’s around me, I am thankful. I’m mostly thankful to God, but also for those around me (the flock).

Working in the church, I know it takes a lot of hands to do God’s work. God has given me a passion to not only do this work, but to also empower others to do this work as well. It brings me much joy to see others finding joy in serving the Lord.

As we were transitioning some ministries in the church over the past couple years, I felt the weight of everything that needs to be done fall on me. While I love doing all the things, it was a lot. Starting up a new service with choir and orchestra had a lot of moving parts. With 100 volunteers to schedule monthly, there’s much music to coordinate and print, care needs, and many other things that need to be tended to.

"Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God's grace in its various forms. Do not be slothful in zeal, be fervent in spirit, serve the Lord."

1 Peter 4:10-11

Thankful for the Flock

The past few months things have shifted. Prayers are being answered. God has called and equipped many lovely people for His work, and I am so thankful for them. It’s evident that God teams with His people to do His work. People are being cared for, lives are being changed, work is getting done, and God is being glorified!

No doubt God is blessing those who are stepping up to serve as well. God is so, so good!

"Through Jesus, therefore, let us continually offer to God a sacrifice of praise — the fruit of lips that openly profess his name."

Hebrews 13:15

As a team who leads worship, we constantly thank and praise God in song. His song is on our lips and in our lives. While I am thankful for God’s people and their contribution to His Kingdom, I am most thankful to God. I am in awe of Him and how He works all things together.
